PRE-ORDER: Angels with Dirty Faces is a photographic work by Riton bringing together more than 350 black and white portraits. For more than seven and a half years the French photographer and author has photographed the main artists of the underground punk, Oi! and hardcore music scenes.
Some of them have been performing in bands since the 1970s and others have formed much more recently, the work having an intergenerational and international content. The leitmotif being music, the book brings together musicians and also other forces in the shadows such as fanzine publishers, concert promoters, record company directors, DJs and photographers, all who have contributed work to these scenes.
Forewards are by Taï-Luc (La Souris Déglinguée), Garry Bushell (The Gonads) and Matt Kelly (Dropkick Murphys).

About the photographer:
Riton took his first steps in the underground music scene while in his early teens at the beginning of the 1980s. He discovered the 'Way of Life' and the sounds and the style that accompanied it. Hanging out with older friends who would bring him to Parisian record stores and flea markets, he absorbed the culture. This drove the now 15 year old to create a fanzine, and a few years later to start his own production and distribution label. He played guitar in many bands and with most success in West Side Boys who toured abroad as well as their home country of France.
He developed a passion for photography very early on and has continued to work in the punk, Oi! and hardcore scenes ever since.
